Do you have a fantastic song that you've written and want to share? Well, we would love to hear it! Send us a submission for a chance to perform your song at the 8th Annual South Country Fair Songwriting Competition, being held Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at The Slice Bar & Grill. Please send all applications to: SCF Songwriting Competition Box 1251 Fort Macleod, AB T0L 0Z0 We've made a few changes to the competition this year and have decided to utilize one category for all finalists. The four top finalists in the competition will be awarded prizes and there will also be two 'Honourable Mentions'. The prizes are as follows: 1st place - $800.00 2nd place - $400.00 3rd place - $200.00 4th place - $100.00 FIRST and SECOND place prizes also include the opportunity to perform your song LIVE on the South Stage at SCF 2015! Other prizes and swag will be presented to those awarded 'Honourable Mention'. All applications MUST ARRIVE BEFORE Saturday, March 21st, 2015. All contest finalists will be contacted and notified by March 30th, 2015. All applications MUST include the following: * Recording of the song being entered * Song lyrics (please don't write your name on the lyrics sheet) * A completed Songwriting Competition form which can be found at the SCF website (www.southcountryfair.com) * $25.00 application fee On April 18th the finalists will perform their songs at The Slice starting at 7pm sharp. Once the top four finalists have been named your SCF family will treat you to a musical dance-a-thon like you've never seen before.
